We believe the Holy Spirit is the primary person of the Trinity at work in applying the finished work of Christ in the lives of God’s people. The Holy Spirit illumines the Bible, empowers Gospel preaching, brings regeneration and sanctifies the believer into the image of Christ. Scripture calls believers to glorify Christ. This calling is only possible through continual reliance on the Spirit’s presence, power and leadership. The Spirit reveals the Father and the Son to us, pouring out their love into our hearts, and conforming our characters to reflect theirs. This transformational process requires our participation, including whole – hearted trust and obedience, and the disciplined pursuit of God and his will. The Spirit assures believers of their position as God’s child. The Spirit draws unbelievers to trust in Christ. We believe all Christ followers are to live lives that are sensitive and responsive to the prompting, leading and specific guidance that He provides. Both the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are essential to the life and ministry of the Church.
